Tech Valley Communications Donates 100 Mbps. Internet Connection for Farm Aid 2013 Annual Benefit Concert

Tech Valley Communications (TVC), a facilities-based telecommunications service provider operating fiber optic networks in upstate New York and Northern England with connectivity to Canada, recently provided a 100 Mbps. Internet connection for the Farm Aid 2013 annual benefit concert in Saratoga Springs, which more than 25,000 people attended.


The event is an all-day music and food festival that featured HOMEGROWN Concessions and Farm Aid's HOMEGROWN Village.

"Supporting local initiatives as powerful as the movement to promote family farms and healthy eating through local and sustainable agriculture is something we here at Tech Valley Communications are very proud," stated Kevin O'Connor, chief executive officer and co-founder of Tech Valley Communications, in a statement. "By providing Farm Aid with our 100 Mbps. Internet service, we are providing the bandwidth needed for the event to be a complete success, on all levels."

Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, as well as Jack Johnson, Jamey Johnson, Amos Lee, Kacey Musgraves, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Bahamas, Carlene Carter, Pegi Young & The Survivors, Sasha Dobson, Insects vs. Robots, Jesse Lenat, and The Blackwood Quartet, were all featured in the Saratoga Springs' Farm Aid 2013 event.

Tech Valley Communications recently appointed industry veteran Robert "Bob" Cochran as the company’s Senior Director of Sales Engineering, reporting directly to Patrick Coughlin, senior vice president, sales and marketing for TVC.
