ECT Deploys Virtual PBX Solutions for Former European Telecom Incumbent

Virtual PBX solutions provider European Computer Telecoms (ECT) has recently won a contract from a major international network operator offering fixed line, mobile and broadband services in over 165 countries worldwide.

ECT delivers solutions including network-based contact centers, ring back tone services, virtual PBX / IP centrex, televoting, multimedia advertising, interactive multimedia response, and more. The company also specialized in migrating services from legacy platforms to next-generation solutions.

The network operator, a former European incumbent, selected ECT’s INtellECT family of products to deliver its cloud-based virtual PBX , virtual private networks (VPN) and/or mobile extension (MEX) services to its clients.

ECT’s solutions are based on its open ECTXML programming language, an extension of the industry standards VoiceXML and CCXML. 

The PBX from ECT largely benefits SMEs as they can now benefit from advanced features that were previously available to only medium and large enterprises. These cloud-based servicescan supplement or even replace the PBX equipment operated by SMEs, so they don’t need to invest in infrastructure or technology upgrades. Further, the virtual PBX does not require any on-premises hardware or software installations. Customers can install the service from any PC in the world. 

ECT won this tender at the end of 2012, and has already delivered and integrated the complete solution at the network operator. The new service is scheduled to be launched in the near future, according to company officials.
