AudioCodes, a provider of VoIP technologies and Voice Network products, has announced the launch of MobilityPLUS. This integrated enterprise solution is designed to extend the feature set of enterprise telephony and unified communications systems to a wide range of smartphone platforms.

MobilityPLUS leverages existing enterprise WiFi or 3G/4G data services to enhance enterprise employee productivity through anytime/anywhere connectivity. As a result, users enjoy improved efficiencies in their business operations with this virtual PBX device.

This latest AudioCodes solution is also designed to integrate with Unified Communications systems, including the Microsoft Office Communications Server R2 and Microsoft Lync 2010. With this integration, businesses can deploy virtual PBX enterprise mobility within their existing Microsoft UC environment.

MobilityPLUS also includes an Enterprise Edition of the AudioCodes VoIP Mobile Access Solutions mobile clients and the Mediant business gateway.Operating as a virtual PBX, the MobilityPLUS reduces enterprise communications costs as a result of the use of existing corporate WiFi networks, public WiFi or mobile broadband data plans. This also reduces the number of mobile minutes used while on the premises and eliminates the costly roaming charges when traveling. An advanced management system enables IT executives to deploy and monitor mobile clients to users.

Discussing the importance of enterprise mobility, Nimrod Borovsky vice president of marketing at AudioCodes said, “Enterprise Mobility is a key growth engine for AudioCodes.”

“Our global community of Systems Integrators and VARs can now target additional opportunities and leverage their existing investment in AudioCodes’ VoIP infrastructure products and technologies. Our TDM and IP interfaces, rich interoperability with key market-leading enterprise telephony vendors and connectivity and security features are all critical for an enterprise mobility solution,” he added.

AudioCodes is focused on advancing the capabilities of the virtual PBX and its unified communications proposition by extending the collaborative benefits of Microsoft Lync to mobile devices. With MobilityPLUS, users can see the availability of their colleagues and click to communicate with them using the best method available. Names and statuses of colleagues are embedded directly into the contacts application, which also allows users to update their own presence, start and join instant messaging session and begin calls directly from the contact card.
