International Business Machines (IBM (News - Alert)), or Big Blue to many, was founded not long after the turn of the 20th century, and continues to operate on the forefront of business technology. From computers and AI, to Watson and Jeopardy fame, there has been no shortage of innovation, and no fear in trying something new.

Today, IBM introduced the arrival of IBM Security Services for SASE to its portfolio, with the aim of driving adoption of cloud-security at the edge, and keeping corporate resources secure. The newly unveiled services bring together Zscaler technology with IBM methodology and expertise.

"Traditional approaches to network security are not as viable in a digital world where users and applications are distributed. We're seeing this transformation happen right before our eyes as many organizations plan to operate in a hybrid model for the foreseeable future," said Mary O'Brien, General Manager, IBM Security.

For IBM customers, there is a programmatic approach to SASE, with customized adoption plans to deliver on expected results. The program puts zero trust at its core, promising VPN replacement, increased protection and seamless user experiences for the hybrid workforce. The services provide a pathway for cloud networking migration during the SASE transition to assist in cutting costs, improving latency and implementing a cloud-delivered network security structure.

Speaking of security structure, IBM provides branch-to-cloud protection and can leverage integrated edge computing security from the SASE solution, underpinning IoT initiatives and driving 5G right to the edge.

In addition, the program enables an organization to define and extend internal workforce policies, utilizing authentication to allow third party access. And, if an organization is involved in a merger or acquisition, IBM offers integrated access management to accelerate the transition period for employees.

"This new approach requires a shift in culture, processes and collaboration across teams alongside a new technology architecture. By focusing on business needs, our zero trust approach can help accelerate this transformation for clients thanks to the skills, methods and capabilities brought together via our alliance partnership with Zscaler,” O’Brien Continued.

It’s a SASE, SASE world, where the cloud is the limit, edge the horizon and the best days ahead.
