Networking and communications solutions specialists Grandstream have released a new Wi-Fi Access Point. The GWN7625 is an 802.11ac Wave-2 Wi-Fi access point, offering 4x4: 4 MU-MIMO technology for the 5G band as well as 2x2:2 MU-MIMO for the 2.4G band. The solution includes a sophisticated antenna design that provides maximum network throughput along with an expanded Wi-Fi coverage range.

The new access point is geared toward SMBs, home offices, retailers, restaurants and more. The solution is supported by Grandstream's GWN.CLoud and GWN Manager, an on-premise Wi-Fi management platform designed to simplify management of a network or several networks across multiple locations.

The GWN7625 Wi-Fi Access Point uses a controller-less network management architecture with the controller embedded within the offering's web user interface. This enables easy administration of locally deployed Wi-Fi APs and is ideal for voice-over-Wi-Fi deployments. It also offers a seamless connection to Grandstream's Wi-Fi capable IP phones as well as support for advanced QoS, low-latency real-time applications, mesh networks and captive portals.

The solution can support more than 200 concurrent clients per access point as well as dual Gigabit network ports with PoE/PoE+, making it ideal for medium wireless network deployments with medium user density. The offering also supports 2.03 Gbps wireless throughput with 2 Gigabit wireline ports, as well as 5GHz 4x4:4 MU-MIMO.

The GWN7625 provides advanced QoS to ensure real-time performance of low-latency applications and features self power adaptation upon auto detection of PoE or PoE+. Additional features include an anti-hacking secure boot and critical data/control lockdown through digital signatures, unique security certificate/random default password per device. It also offers an embedded controller that can manage up to 30 local GWN series APs and unlimited AP management through GWN.Cloud. The GWN Manager also features a premise-based software controller.
