On Sundays during the NFL season, you’re sure to find plenty of cheese-shaped headwear wearing Green Bay Packers fans in Wisconsin.  But what do those fans do between Sundays and all offseason?  The same things residents of every other state do – they use broadband services for business and personal activities, which many in the state’s rural areas receive from Packerland Broadband.

With a name like that, customers surely expect the same level of competitive service they seek from their football team, which means Packerland has to be able to deliver the latest in broadband communications, video, and Internet services.

To meet today’s high standards, Packerland Broadband has added Alianza’s cloud-based VoIP platform, specifically designed to enable service providers to transform their communications service delivery and monetization capabilities.

Alianza’s Cloud Voice Platform has been built as a turnkey, virtualized VoIP platform leveraging an elastic cloud , providing a rich feature set for both residential and business customers, rapid scalability, ease-of-management thanks to its Web and REST APIs, and fast, non-disruptive updates.

“We love the simplicity of the Cloud Voice Platform and the tight partner alignment we have with Alianza,” said Cory Heigl, vice president and GM of Packerland Broadband.  “With this new solution, our cloud communications suite is more robust and we’re delivering greater value to our customers.”

Part of the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC), Packerland Broadband was able to leverage Alianza’s experience with other NCTC providers that have already migrates from hosted softswitch solutions to a next-generation cloud model.  Since 2014, more than 20 NCTC providers have gone through similar upgrades to their VoIP services to ensure their subscribers receive the latest in communications services.

“Packerland Broadband is bridging the digital divide in rural Michigan and Wisconsin,” said Camille Issa, vice president of sales at Alianza.  “Working together, we are helping Packerland Broadband deliver a compelling and modern cloud communications suite that connects residents and businesses in the communities it serves.”

Packerland Broadband services 60 communities throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with its telecom services and has a vision of improving healthcare, education and economic opportunity in the its service areas.  In addition to enhancing its communications services, it is also working with Microsoft’s Airband Initiative to extend its network utilizing TV white spaces, WiFi and other technologies to bring broadband access in underserved areas.
