Analytics, AI, ML Deliver Business Intelligence

July 06, 2018

Analytics is a fancy word. And there’s no question we’re getting fancier about how we uncover and employ analytics.

But the bottom line is that analytics is about understanding what’s happening with the data you have. That could be as simple as looking at your full or empty shop shelves. Or it could be as complex as wading through loads of digital data, real-time conversations, or recordings to highlight specific instances or larger trends.

Of course, a single person can do the former. But it’s near impossible for a human – or even a large group of us – to do the latter.

There’s simply too much data out there for us to aggregate, analyze, and act on. The fact that these efforts require data from more than one business system means that data aggregation and normalization is also needed. And that only adds to the complexity and time commitment of such efforts.

However artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other tools and technologies now make it possible for humans to contend with all that data and complexity.

This is true whether we’re talking about a customer service team trying to understand customer intent; a marketing team seeking to define what customers are most likely to buy a specific solution; or a network operations team working to spot and track unusual behavior on a network.

We’ll be talking about all of the above – and more – at the upcoming AI/ML events under The New Intelligence umbrella.

The three events – which will take place Jan. 30 through Feb. 1 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida – are dedicated to exploring what’s available and what’s next in The Future of Work, Adaptive & Intent-Based Networking, and AIOps.
