BVoIP Certifies Datto Networking Gear

June 22, 2018

By Paula Bernier, Executive Editor, TMC

Datto was in Austin, Texas, this week staging DattoCon. The event brought together managed service providers, Datto, and a variety of other leading suppliers. Also this week Datto announced that BVoIP has certified various Datto Networking solutions for use.

That includes Datto access points, the Datto Networking Appliance, and Datto standard and power over Ethernet switches. The supplier’s Datto Networking Appliance is a router/UTM designed for managed service providers.

A cloud communications platform provider, BVoIP helps IT and managed service providers deploy voice and unified communications. BVoIP does business in Australian/New Zealand, Europe, and North America.

The BVoIP platform automates MSP interactions with their existing systems and tools. And it assists MSPs in standardizing their unified communications offerings.

The Datto certification confirms the successful NAT traversal of recommended VoIP phones and devices while the DNA is using primary or 4G failover connectivity. It confirms auto re-registration of recommended VoIP phones and devices during failover to 4G and failing back to primary ISP connections.

It ensures that active calls made or received while on 4G failover will complete without interruption even after primary ISP connection is restored. The certification also confirms zero-touch provisioning, remote firmware updates, and remote device control leveraging DNA appliances and the BVoIP Unified Management and Provisioning Platform.

Datto products deliver high density and throughput. They use meshed access point technology. And they help simplify the deployment of business devices for small-to medium-sized businesses and the companies who cater to them.

“Our IT partner community engages a ton of new products as they work to standardize their networking environments,” said BVoIP CEO George Bardissi. “Their business customers have a clear expectation that real-time communications remain online to facilitate daily operations. Datto’s Networking Stack is a great option and their DNA appliance has a built-in 4G failover; a key feature to providing business continuity. We are proud to include Datto Networking to a list of solutions certified for use in parallel with BVoIP’s Unified Communications Platform.”

“We’re pleased to see how the DNA has performed under BVoIP’s testing process,” said John Tippett, vice president of networking at Datto. “This certification will ensure reliable performance under VOIP environments and enable MSP partners to deploy these services with confidence.”

Speaking of MSPs and their partner, TMC is staging an MSP event of its own early next year. MSP Expo 2019 will take place Jan. 29 through Feb. 1 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
