IntelePeer has received a $15 million venture loan facility from Horizon Technology Finance Corp.

The former company is a cloud-based contact center, enterprise voice, and unified communications solutions provider. Established in 2003, its financial backers include VantagePoint Venture Partners, Kennet Partners, and NorthCap Partners. The latter provides secured loans to venture capital-backed companies in technology and other key industry verticals.

Horizon Technology will provide an initial $12 million to IntelePeer via the relationship. IntelePeer plans to use the money to expand its customer base and add channel partners.

In July, IntelePeer announced plans to move completely to a partner sales model. And just yesterday the company posted a job for a channel sales director in San Francisco.

"Over the past year, we have seen 130 percent growth in the channel for our voice services portfolio and our solutions for Cisco Spark and Meraki," Rob Clarke, Chief Commercial Officer at IntelePeer, said in July. "We are building on the momentum from our incredible channel success by expanding our team and focusing on helping our partners win new business and support existing customers."

The company’s Atmosphere Communications Platform provides IntelePeer channel partners with a range of connectivity, pricing, and services options. And the company delivers marketing, self-service tools, support, and training to the channel through its Cloud Advantage Partner Program.

Last month, Frost & Sullivan recognized IntelePeer with an award for its SIP and cloud-based communications services, which are based its Atmosphere Communications platform. IntelePeer explains that Atmosphere employs automation for easy turn-up and provides partners with a white label option.

"IntelePeer's innovation lies in its ability to help technology and provider partners, as well as enterprise customers, deploy voice and call center services quickly and with minimum human intervention," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Michael Brandenburg. "Through its technology innovations, IntelePeer brings almost unmatched levels of speed and agility to the SIP trunking market."
