Evolve IP Lands Azzaron to Bolster VoIP

Acquisitions are a long-practiced way to offer current customers more and potentially bring in new ones. With an acquisition, companies quickly acquire new products or services, sometimes both, for customers to put to work. Recently, Evolve IP made one such acquisition as it brought in Azzaron Inc., a company which focuses on workspace as a service to augment Evolve IP's own line of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services.

Representing Evolve IP's 10th acquisition, Azzaron will contribute to Evolve IP's current growth strategy and offer not only access to new services, but also a foothold in the American Southwest, where Azzaron's primary market is located. Plus, since Azzaron's customer focus was geared toward construction, legal, and veterinary markets, Evolve IP now has a chance to better appeal to those markets as well.

Moreover, Azzaron's services don't just stop at workspace as a service functions, but also include cloud-based desktop and infrastructure operations, along with a complete collaboration service that includes file sharing. This is actually an excellent fit for Evolve IP, as its OneCloud solution helps deliver a variety of cloud-based communications functions ranging from IP phone systems and VoIP service, unified communications (UC) systems, virtual desktops and more.

Azzaron president David Lawson commented “We are thrilled to be joining Evolve IP and excited to have new opportunities due to the company's tremendous growth."In addition to opportunities for our associates, our customers now have access to more world-class cloud computing services along with an entirely new suite of cloud communications services like hosted contact centers, IP phone systems and unified communications. As an organization, we're looking forward to leveraging Evolve IP's international presence and infrastructure to further penetrate the veterinary, construction and legal verticals.”

The two firms seem like an excellent fit. Azzaron seems to make some of the same kinds of things that Evolve does, so Evolve getting Azzaron out of the market means one less competitor. Since Azzaron also makes some things Evolve doesn't, now Evolve can add those things to the lineup without a lengthy and potentially costly development cycle. That's great news for Evolve, and when you throw in the access to Azzaron's market, Evolve now can reach a variety of users who are already using products similar to Evolve's, but also likely some completely different products that should be of use as well.

Expanded market, expanded product line, and expanded potential; that sounds like a great solution for Evolve, who may well have managed to buy a bit of market success for itself.
