As startups begin to establish themselves and grow, it is critical to have the necessary funding to continue that progress, because without it, even the best ideas won't be able to reach their full potential. With that in mind, Knowlarity Communications has been reported to be in the process of trying to raise up to $40 million for further acquisitions, and to grow its overseas market.

Knowlarity was founded in 2009, and it has now become India’s largest cloud telephony company providing services to more than 12,000 SME clients and around 500 large enterprises in more than 65 countries. It has received three rounds of funding since that time. An undisclosed amount in 2011, $6.5 million in 2012 from Sequoia Capital, and in 2014 it raised another $16M from Sequoia and Mayfield, with a total of more than $22.5M to date.

The report the company is looking for additional funding was made public by Swaraj Singh Dhanjal of Livemint. According to Dhanjal, "Two people aware of the development" stated the company is in talks to raise the previously mentioned $40M. Knowlarity is looking to expand in the Asia-Pacific and West Asia regions, as well as Middle East market, and in order to do that it will need additional funds.

The company provides cloud communications in emerging markets with two flagship products, SuperReceptionist, which according to the company can process more than a million calls an hour. As a cloud-based communication service it has the scalability to deliver this type of volume, it also serves as a virtual assistant, front-office receptionist, lead manager and CRM management system.

SmartIVR also delivers the flexibility and scalability of SuperReceptionist. It gives small businesses professional grade services so they can create multiple departments within their operations using an automated IVR system that delivers several operations. SmartIVR also allows the customers of small businesses to engage with them right from the app on their smart mobile devices.

The company has inbuilt mechanism for failover, redundancy and backup to ensure the communications that take place will always be available, which is a great service for organizations that might hesitate to deploy a cloud-based communication solution.
