Nextiva's New Products Are a Game Changer for Business VoIP

VoIP has changed telecommunications much in the same way the telephone once changed telegrams; it has made things simpler, more efficient, and more instantaneous. But even VoIP itself has seen many evolutions since its inception. Using the Internet to make phone calls has become by far the cheapest way to talk to others around the world. Cutting out the middlemen and transmitting voice as far as possible over the Internet before connecting to a regular public switched telephone network connection (or PSTN) means the cost of calling is extremely low. Now, business VoIP provider Nextiva is changing the VoIP game with the launch of its new products.

The company launched NextOS 3.0, the latest installment to its solution that caters to the small and midsize business market.

At the company’s inaugural Partner Summit at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, the OS promises to simplify business phone systems with easy setup, easy management—and it’s portable.

“This is where simplicity meets functionality,” said CEO Tomas Gorny according to Phoenix Business Journal. “It has complex features made easy, with a simple user interface. It has easy-to-access tools that everyone can use.”

So, what sets this solution apart from the others? It fits almost any device and with one click, users can access all of its features, including a call center function. Need to access schedules, assign tasks, and keep everyone on the same page? It can do that.

“You can import 100 users at once, which has never been done before,” said Gorny. “You can also assign administrators to multiple sites for administrator flexibility. We wanted to make it as simple as it gets.”

With VoIP, new applications are being developed all the time. Web-enabled call centers, remote telecommuting, collaborative white boarding and even applications for personal productivity such as the unified messaging and “follow me” services make VoIP a multifaceted solution. Nextiva is poised to compete in this arena with its latest solution.

Included with the 3.0 announcement comes the launch of Nextiva Analytics, a software product that coexists with NextOS. With Nextiva Analytics, users can analyze, create and schedule reports using existing data.

“Everyone in the organization can make sense of the information,” Gorny said. “You can customize reports and create schedules for any user in the company.”

This solution takes analytics and marries it with Nextiva’s business VoIP solution so you get the best of both worlds, allowing users to gain the best overview of its calling system and the people who use it.

So, what’s next on tap for Nextiva?

“This is only the beginning,” Gorny said. “We have a lot of products planned. The goal is to visualize information, identify trends, be intuitive and require no integration. This is insight like you’ve never had before.”
