While Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) used to be looked at as something of a fad technology, the truth is the VoIP has caught on all over the world. What once was considered a cheaper alternative to consumer long distance services has turned into an invaluable tool to businesses across the globe. Business VoIP has also served as a way to drive other technology to get bigger and stronger. Broadband Internet, for example, is one tool that businesses are relying on more than they have in the past. And the faster the broadband connection, the better the business level VoIP services that can be used.

Businesses in the southwest region of Cornwall in the U.K. are finding out this fact first hand. A company known as Superfast Cornwall has released new statistics that show that faster speed broadband is reaching more homes and businesses than ever before. The company says that 82 percent of the region is now boasting high-speed fiber.

While high-speed fiber is a service that everyone can take advantage of, businesses are seeing the biggest benefit. Superfast Cornwall says that over the last year, 60 percent of small and medium sized businesses are growing while a total of 83 percent are reporting a savings of time and money. In particular, faster broadband is opening doors to better business VoIP services. Those better business VoIP services are doing the lion share of the work when it comes to saving small and medium sized businesses time and money.

VoIP in general is becoming a way in which organizations in all walks of life are looking to cut spending. The reduced cost of VoIP and business level VoIP is one of the reasons more prisons are turning to that service, rather than landlines. Businesses in Cornwall and other parts of the world that might have a more static bottom line than county prison systems understand how having a phone line that can be interchangeable and easily moved can help save a buck here and there. Those bucks add up quickly over time. When you have faster broadband to go along with business VoIP, the service functions better and is more reliably, saving even more money over time.
