Business VoIP Provider Nextiva Renews its Membership in Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree Partner Program

Business VoIP provider Nextiva offers a suite of communications solutions that help small to medium-sized businesses reduce their carbon footprint. For example, its cloud-based IP fax service, vFAX, helps companies reduce their carbon footprint by helping them reduce paper and toner consumption, as well as energy usage.

In addition its Office VoIP service, which is delivered via the company’s advanced all-IP network, offers unified communications features that give employees new ways to collaborate and communicate that create new efficiencies and can potentially reduce the need for business travel. In addition this service enables employees to work remotely, including from home, thus helping to take a few cars off our roads.

In addition Nextiva itself engages in green business practices: For example, the data centers it operates, which drive its nationwide communications network, are set up to be as energy efficient as possible.

Indeed, Nextiva prides itself as an “eco-conscious” company and the environmental leader in the small business communications industry. As such it has renewed its membership in Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree partner program, which promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation projects in the U.S. and abroad. This is the third year Nextiva has participated in this program.

“Environmental stewardship is one of our core values," said Yaniv Masjedi of Nextiva in a press release. "In addition to providing communications solutions to small businesses nationwide, Nextiva is also engaged in combating climate change."

Carbonfund.org is a non-profit consultancy that helps businesses reduce and offset their climate impact. Small businesses can choose the “green” projects they want to undertake and Carbonfund.org then guides them on how to best carry out those projects. In addition, after the projects are completed, Carbonfund.org arranges for third party validation to show that each project has been implemented properly and is in fact resulting in reduced environmental impact.

“We encourage everyone to continually strive to reduce their carbon footprint through sensible energy reductions combined with cost-effective carbon offsets to eliminate their overall carbon footprint,” Carbonfund.org states on its website. CarbonFree partners commit to reducing their CO2 footprint and looking to clean, renewable energy as the future of business.

In addition to running energy-efficient data centers, Nextiva has also created an internal recycling program and assigned Green Team Members in each department.

"By committing to reducing their carbon emissions and implementing eco-friendly programs, Nextiva has proved itself as a leader environmentally friendly companies," said Ivan Chan of Carbonfund.org, in the release. "We wish we saw more businesses taking such a proactive approach to saving the planet."
