Healthcare facilities all over the world are increasingly deploying advanced technology to automate patient care and provide a better quality of services. Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (HIAE) is one such hospital -- it recently implemented AeroScout’s Asset Tracking and Temperature Monitoring solutions as part of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to regional and global leadership in healthcare excellence.

To quickly locate critical equipment, such as wheelchairs and infusion pumps, throughout the facility, HIAE staff uses the AeroScout Asset Tracking and Management solution. Since they don’t have to manually search the hospital for available equipment, caregivers are able to spend more time treating patients and have the proper items when and where they need them, states  AeroScout.

To ensure that temperatures are within acceptable ranges to prevent spoilage, refrigerators used to store critical items, such as pharmaceuticals and blood and tissue samples, are required to be continuously monitored and the temperature logged at regular time intervals. The AeroScout Wi-Fi RFID solution facilitates regulatory compliance and relieves staff from having to manually track and log temperatures. The AeroScout solution has proven to be more reliable and flexible than the wired temperature monitoring system it replaced as the solution transmits temperature data wirelessly via a standard Wi-Fi network.

In December 2009, Samarinda Aged Services in Ashburton, Australia, selected and implemented AeroScout's Resident Safety and Asset Tracking and Management solutions at its Samarinda Lodge. AeroScout officials said that its Wi-Fi real time location system, or “RTLS,” enables aged care residents to use call buttons to request assistance when needed, and staff to quickly locate residents anywhere on the property.
