Digi International, a company specializing in device networking solutions, has
reportedly launched an all-in-one enterprise-class cellular router with integrated Wi-Fi access point called Digi TransPort WR44.
Company officials claims that the new Digi TransPort WR44 router provides high-speed connectivity to remote devices by combining a 3G cellular router, state-of-the-art security, advanced routing, an Ethernet switch, global positioning system, telemetry and Wi-Fi access point through a single unit.
Its unique combination of enterprise-class features and flexible wireless functionality makes the router ideal for connecting remote devices in vertical applications such as transportation, remote office and retail point-of-sale. It even provides primary and back-up connectivity to remote office networks.
Other features included in the router are: diverse power options, multiple mounting options, a rugged design, local scripting, advanced dynamic routing, firewall features including stateful packet inspection and integrated IPSec VPN.

Alert) said the new Digi Transport WR44 has all the functionality of enterprise-class routers but with a vertically focused feature set designed for specific industry applications such as transportation, public safety, remote office, retail and financial.
Additionally, the Digi Transport WR44 offers easy setup, configuration and maintenance of large installations using Digi’s Remote Manager Software and is available in variety of configurations such as multiple serial ports, GPS or I/O telemetry modules, a USB port and a four-port Ethernet switch, company officials said.
The Digi TransPort WR44 is available at $895 along with a five-year warranty.
The company’s
recent release includes ConnectPort X5 family of compact, ruggedized telematics devices with optional satellite functionality, which provides remote connectivity to mobile assets via cellular or satellite networks and was developed using satellite technology gained through the recent acquisition of MobiApps.
