VideoTouch family of pocket sized light-weight devices provides users with a context sensitive automatic switching capability from "Landscape view" to "Portrait view."
“Antenova’s (

Earlier, Quantum’s VideoTouch family of multimedia devices was not provided with external antennas. With the deployment of Antenova’s Wi-Fi and HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access) antennas along with the M10214 GPS RF antenna modules, Quantum’s VideoTouch family of multimedia devices will be facilitated with always-on, anywhere and anytime connectivity.
Antenova’s
RADIONOVA range of RF antenna modules are based on company’ patented HAD and balanced antenna technologies. These antennas are integrated with front-end RF components to provide fully optimized RF solutions for ODMs and OEMs.
Antenova’s M10214 GPS RADIONOVA RF antenna module is a flash based highly integrated GPS RF antenna module suitable for L1-band GPS and A-GPS systems. Based on SiRFstarIII GPS architecture, M10214 has applications in PNDs, portable media players, PDAs, Smart phones, mobile Internet devices (MIDs), asset tracking and more.
The M10214 GPS RF antenna module provides accurate and reliable performance, regardless of the device orientation, which is a huge advantage for our dual-orientation VideoTouch devices that can switch between landscape and portrait orientations depending on the application, Martini said.
“And the small size, low profile and ground plane independence of the M10214 enabled our design team to quickly and easily add GPS functionality without affecting the existing sleek form factor,” Martini said.
According to Greg McCray, CEO of Antenova, the company’s Rufa 2.4 GHz SMD antenna from gigaNOVA range of antennas provides robust Wi-Fi connectivity, thereby allowing VideoTouch users to browse and surf the internet at the touch of a finger.
In addition, Antenova’s GPS RADIONOVA RF antenna modules provide fast and accurate location data for the real time navigation application. Models incorporating Antenova’s custom HSDPA antennas facilitates VideoTouch users with location based TV and interactive services that are available from their mobile network providers, said McCray.
