Alert) Wireless’ retailer Cellular Sales has stated that it is now offering the
Verizon Wireless’ MiFi2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot. The new Wi-Fi router has the same size as that of a credit card and has EV-DO integrated into it so that users can use the device to get connected at almost anywhere and share the connection with up to five devices.
The retailer also announced that it is opening up new stores every month and, by year end, will have more than 300 locations to serve the customers.
Cellular Sales is a management company that operates authorized retail stores for Verizon Wireless throughout the South, Midwest, and Atlantic regions of the United States.

Alert) capability that lets users take full advantage of Verizon’s reliable 3G network. The intelligent mobile hotspot device enhances the mobile broadband service experience by also providing a wireless hub for up to five WiFi enabled devices at one time – multiple users can take advantage of an instant hotspot. It can provide access to up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices including notebooks, netbooks, MP3 players, smartphones, cameras, PDAs, portable gaming systems and more.
Laptop Magazine had reviewed the new lightweight and compact device and had observed that it is one of the most innovative 3G device and a must have for any road warrior and invaluable to those who need Internet access not just for themselves, but for small groups that travel together.
Jay Witherspoon of Verizon Wireless retailer Cellular Sales said that the intelligent hotspot is ideal for users who often need Wi-Fi access far away from traditional hotspots or want to give high-speed online access to multiple Wi-Fi enabled devices at one time. The device detects the Verizon Wireless network from anywhere in a coverage area and allows access to a reliable broadband connection. In Wi-Fi mode, it can connect up to five Wi-Fi–enabled devices at the same time.
Some of the Security features included on the device are: Password protection; VPN pass-through; CDMA authentication and identification; Dynamic Mobile IP (MIP) key update; and Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) firewall.
Verizon had
announced that it is compensating for the absence of ‘Tax Free Week’ this year for Florida consumers and had
joined the Cloud Security Alliance.
