Xiamen Women and Children Hospital (XWCH) is using
Aruba's wireless solutions for mobile EMR, patient registration applications, RTLS, and video surveillance. The wireless network has enhanced staff mobility and productivity while improving overall patient care.
XWCH believes in continuous quality improvement in services that affect patient care and their internal operations.
Yang Guangcai, director of the Information Technology Department noted that the deployment has allowed the hospital to integrate all patient-related information into one system. As this system can be accessible by authorized staff from anywhere within or outside of their facility, it enhances both patient care and community outreach.
The 250-bed XWCH is located in China's Fujian province, with a population 3.5 million. The facility serves two-thirds of the province's women and children with a staff of more than 500.
Since deployment of Aruba's mobility solutions, patients can now register electronically using self-service kiosks, and benefit from free wireless guest network while waiting for service.
The hospital required a network with the performance of Ethernet but the convenience of Wi-Fi. Yang explained that they evaluated solutions from Cisco (

“Aruba has given us a secure, feature-rich network that boosts efficiency, delivers reliable access to information, and elevates our service standard to a whole new level.”
