Digi International, a provider of device networking for business, reportedly has introduced NET ( News - Alert)+OS 7.4, the latest version of its royalty-free software platform for network-enabled embedded system development.
NET+OS 7.4 has Wi-Fi Protected Setup to make security in embedded products simple to configure and deploy. WPS automatically configures the WPA and WPA2 parameters for wireless networks. It allows the embedded developers to easily provide WPS configuration in their wireless embedded products using any Digi embedded wireless module.
NET+OS is designed for networked-enabled embedded system development based on Digi’s expertise in embedded network technology. It is based on ThreadX Real-Time Operating System. NET+OS offers a complete set of software components that will ensure your products are equipped with the network technology required. This includes a Treck dual-mode IPv4/IPv6 capable TCP/IP stack, the Allegro advanced web server RomPager(tm), and integrated support for a wide variety of network services such as IPSec, SNMPv3, LDAP,LDAP, SSL/TLS, POP3, SMTP, XML, and more.
WPS is suited for environments where strong wireless security and data integrity is required like in medical devices to protect patient information or to protect the transfer of financial data. NET+OS 7.4 is an ideal solution for developing secure wireless embedded products with Digi embedded modules. It provides solution designed and optimized for Digi’s NET+ARM ( News - Alert) processors and embedded modules. Also, it includes a royalty-free distribution of ThreadX Real-Time Operating System from Express Logic, Digi ESP.
“As a leading wireless solutions provider, we are constantly developing products that make it easier for customers to develop and deploy wireless technologies,” said Steve Ericson, vice president of product management at Digi International ( News - Alert). “NET+OS with WPS is yet another enabler of easy wireless development from Digi.”
