Devicescape Software, a provider of Easy Wi-Fi Handsets, PCs, and devices, recently announced that they had crossed the one million membership mark. The company credited this success to new contracts signed with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and service providers.
The company also mentioned the industry trends that affected the demand for Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
Devicescape also stated the success of its latest products that were released in the year 2008. Among these, the company’s

"The overwhelming success of new smartphones, such as the iPhone, has been a true 'game changer' in terms of how service providers and OEMs regard Wi-Fi," said Dave Fraser, chief executive officer of Devicescape.
"Smartphone users spend a higher percentage of their time watching videos and downloading various files with a resulting strain on the carriers' 3G network. This trend is forcing OEMs and service providers to rethink the value of new networks like Wi-Fi. A Wi-Fi network has a much lower cost for service providers to carry all this new traffic," he added.
In-Stat commented on Wi-Fi in its July report and stated that smartphones were the fastest-growing embedded Wi-Fi segment. The company also mentioned that its success would extend beyond that of PCs being the largest section of Wi-Fi devices.
The growth of the smartphone market has resulted in an adverse strain on the 3G network.
Devicescape, released new products based on new Wi-Fi trends, and provided its customers with Easy Wi-Fi for Handsets, Easy Wi-Fi for PCs and Easy Wi-Fi for Devices. The company also released Easy Wi-Fi in the iTunes App Store and entered into new contracts with customers in Europe, Japan and other markets.
"Wi-Fi has weathered the current economic conditions better than many other technologies, and In-Stat (
