ADC has unveiled the FlexWave Prism, a compact radio head that will replace the FlexWave URH (Universal Radio head) product and provide mobile operators with a more flexible option for extending macro network coverage for 2G, 3G, and 4G services.
According to the company, the URH was designed as a cost-effective solution for extending or distributing capacity from base stations to other areas that require coverage.
The URH improves wireless network coverage by extending services from existing cell sites to hard-to-reach areas and improves wireless capacity by distributing coverage from centralized radio suites.
Prism is purported to deliver a much more cost effective and an easier to use option for mobile operators who want their outdoor capacity and coverage enhanced.
ADC provides the connections for wireline, wireless, cable, broadcast, and enterprise networks and its network infrastructure equipment and services enable high-speed Internet, data, video, and voice services to residential, business and mobile subscribers.
The FlexWave Prism also supports one, two, three or four frequency bands depending on the size of the cabinet the carrier chooses to use. It's also reliable and consistent because it makes use of the wideband digital RF transport signals which are not affected by factors such as reflection, dispersion, or frequency attenuation.
Also, Prism’s smaller size makes it easy for quick placement and transport and its 4G readiness with a Four Band remote allows easy addition of 2G and 3G services with needs of 4G technologies such as MIMO.
