Wi-Fi TV's New China Subsidiary to Offer Personal Internet TV

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Wi-Fi TV is forming a subsidiary to further develop and deploy its Social Internet TV plan for China. With over 220 million Internet users, China is both the largest and the fastest growing Internet market in the world.

The subsidiary will initially be formed in the United States and will be affiliated with either an existing or newly formed company incorporated in China and co-owned by China-based partners.

The U.S. subsidiary, Wi-FiChina.cn, will be majority owned by Wi-Fi TV. Further details of its partners for its China introduction will be provided by Wi-Fi TV with online videos.

Wi-Fi TV is working with recognized industry innovators in all aspects of its rollout to China. Based on the relationships Wi-Fi TV has developed in China, Wi-Fi TV believes it will be able to potentially reach millions of Chinese Internet users once its Chinese site has been developed.

A new Personal Internet TV feature is being developed for joint introduction in China and the United States.

Wi-Fi TV provides Social Internet TV, a new generation TV delivery platform that has a geographic sphere out-distancing any traditional cable or over-the-air TV broadcaster.

The Wi-Fi TV Web site is the place on the Internet where one can watch hundreds of TV stations and chat with others watching the same program in a live chat box directly under the viewing screen. They can also get breaking news for each country and category listed.

In June, Wi-Fi TV elaborated on its plans to potentially expand its global user base.

As per the plans, Wi-Fi TV will begin accepting indications of interest in free personal TV stations, an Internet first that goes significantly beyond the social networking and video posting opportunities Internet users have with any other Web site.

By sending an e-mail to [email protected], individuals will be invited to participate for free in a beta program introducing Wi-Fi TV personal TV stations, which allow users to "go live," and post and select the order of both on-demand and 24/7 continuously playing videos on a unique TV station page.

Based on the results of the Beta program, Wi-Fi TV will make free personal TV stations part of its next major upgrade to the Web site, www.Wi-FiTV.com.

In addition, Wi-Fi TV is introducing new pricing and features for its business TV stations, and will be represented in the sale of stations by an increased sales force.
