The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, one of the oldest and largest privately-held chains of specialty coffee and tea stores in the United States, recently announced that it will offer “totally free” Wi-Fi Internet access at virtually all company-owned stores.
Under this initiative, the company began installing the Wi-Fi units in July and expects that a large number of stores will now have the wireless service. The company realized that increasingly more customers want to be online 24/7, and thus they are making connectivity convenient for their patrons.
Thanks to this initiative, their customers, asked to write a blog entry about their upcoming vacation or to edit a business presentation in the eleventh hour, can quickly and easily perform the tasks while enjoying their order at the store.
There are still many stores in the U.S., according to the company, that require customers to take the time to enter usernames and password information. In contrast, internet at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will be totally free and unrestricted, saving the customers from the hassle of creating an online account or using a credit card.
“We are thrilled to offer Wi-Fi Internet access to our consumers free from limitations,” said Scott Nicholson, director of operation services, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, in a statement. He explained that their company knows their consumers, especially the younger crowd, are looking for free, fast and unrestricted Web access and they’re happy to accommodate them.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf wants their stores to continue to be a friendly place where their consumers feel comfortable making the store a temporary office, a place to do homework or a place to chat online.
Wi-Fi enables wireless access to applications and data, media and streams. Making access to information easier, Wi-Fi eliminates cabling and wiring, switches, adapters, plugs, pins and connectors.
Founded in 1963, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is one of the oldest and largest privately-held chains of specialty coffee and tea stores in the United States. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf currently has more than 650 stores, 289 of which are company owned with 363 franchised.
