Bonipak says Xirrus was exceptional in testing, providing more extensive coverage, bandwidth, and resiliency than any other WiFi product on the market. Xirrus is the first wireless product that has the same performance as Bonipak’s wired network.
A player in the produce industry for more than 76 years, Bonipak features state-of-the-art facilities – from planting to harvesting to processing. A facility’s processing and distribution should always be at their best if a company wants to maintain the quality and freshness of its products. So, to keep its mission-critical inventory and order management applications in good health, the company opted for Xirrus, after scanning many vendors and products.
Bonipak needed features such as: resilient WiFi network to run mission critical inventory and order management applications; future proof WiFi equipment to handle new, higher bandwidth applications that will be utilized; Ubiquitous Tri-mode (802.11a/b/g) coverage across the entire facility; and support over 100 client devices including bar code scanners, laptops and WiFi-enabled printers.
By deploying the solution from Xirrus, the company received benefits such as: efficient, secure, and robust giving an intelligent edge to the network; fully upgradeable to 802.11n; seamless 802.11a/b/g coverage and roaming across the entire facility; and fewer devices and cabling needed.
“Our WiFi Array’s distributed architecture with an intelligent edge was the only solution powerful enough to cover their facilities with just a couple cable drops – an expansive 100,000 square feet of cold storage, a 17,000 square foot staging area, and a refrigerated staging area that accommodates up to 200 trucks each day,” said Charles Bettinelli, a regional manager at Xirrus. “Bonipak now has a robust WiFi network that will support their 802.11abg voice, video, and data applications today and be easily upgraded to 802.11n when they’re ready to make the move.”
