Juniper Networks and Vodafone Business Introduce AI-Driven SD-LAN Solution

By Greg Tavarez January 24, 2024

Traditional and cumbersome hardware-centric infrastructures are steadily becoming obsolete, giving way to the ascendancy of cloud computing. The reasons organizations adopt cloud-based solutions are for their computing needs, leveraging the flexibility, scalability and cost-effectiveness offered by cloud platforms.

With the cloud, people, places and things are becoming more and more connected. However, organizations need reliable platforms that keep workers productive. Telecommunications provider Vodafone Business and networking powerhouse Juniper Networks unveiled a new Software Defined Local Area Network, or SD-LAN, managed service, primed to give businesses responsiveness and control over their internal networks.

“Being able to compete in a digital world is fundamentally important to enterprises in any sector, any region,” said Sally Bament, Vice President, Field and Industry Marketing, Juniper Networks (News - Alert). “A managed service built on Juniper’s technology and delivered by Vodafone’s expertise enables more enterprises to build their business and scale up on a sustainable, AI-driven experience-first network, without the operational overhead.”

At the heart of this solution lies Juniper’s Mist AI, which provides real-time insights and proactive problem-solving. This AI engine gathers data from endpoints and the network itself, sifting through it with laser focus to identify and remediate potential issues before they even have a chance to disrupt operations. Imagine a network that can predict and fix problems before you even notice them – that’s Mist AI.

Vodafone (News - Alert) Business’ SD-LAN service delivers a cornucopia of benefits for businesses. The cloud-based architecture allows for centralized control, making network management a breeze regardless of IT expertise. The SD-LAN service also scales effortlessly.

When it comes to security and costs, the solution is built with an “always-on” security posture and safeguards networks from cyber threats. And the automation and proactive problem-solving capabilities of the SD-LAN service translate to fewer headaches for IT teams and, more importantly, reduced operational costs.

For the icing on the cake, the user experience is optimized. Forget about buffering video calls and sluggish downloads. The AI-powered network prioritizes critical traffic and optimizes bandwidth allocation to provide reliable connectivity for all users and devices.

“Vodafone Business SD-LAN managed service powered by Juniper Mist is optimizing operations, performance and user experience through centralized cloud control, anonymized deep insights and AI analytics,” said Andy Kivell, Head of Connectivity Portfolio, Vodafone Business. “From risk-free migrations to E2E In life support, with each step we are ensuring our customers a worry-free transition. As a core part of the proposition, sustainability options are embedded across the product lifecycle to support customers’ sustainability goals.”

Businesses now have the ability to break free from clunky legacy infrastructure and move toward the future of networking that is built on agility, intelligence and improved user experience.
