Gone are the days of duplicated cell towers and redundant facilities. Neutral host networks are reshaping the telecommunications industry by providing a common infrastructure backbone, reducing capital and operational expenditures for carriers while ensuring top-notch coverage and capacity.
A neutral host is a company that owns telecommunications infrastructure and leases it to multiple communication service providers. Neutral host networks improve wireless coverage and capacity in large venues or other busy locations. They can also reduce infrastructure size and make telecommunications services more competitive.
And a new benchmark for in-building mobile coverage was set through a visionary solution: InfiniG’s Neutral Host as a Service, or NHaaS.
As pioneers within the OnGo Alliance, InfiniG's team devised the NHaaS model by harnessing the CBRS shared wireless spectrum, enabling mobile coverage in structures that traditional methods couldn't reach. CBRS is a private LTE (News - Alert) network option in the U.S. that uses shared spectrum within 3.55 GHz and 3.70 GHz, a band that falls within Wi-Fi's range.
"We're introducing the industry's first true neutral host service with multiple Tier 1 mobile operators that is set to redefine the industry," said Joel Lindholm, InfiniG founder and CEO. "Our collaboration with the mobile operators, enterprises, commercial real estate owners and partners has birthed an innovative new model."
Some of the primary benefits of InfiniG's NHaaS solution include its simplicity, scalability and cost-effectiveness. It offers genuine mobile coverage from multiple mobile network operators, granting customers the flexibility to adapt their networks as needed. This approach is not only favorable for MNOs and businesses but also enhances property value and tenant satisfaction, making it suitable for commercial buildings of any size.
The InfiniG service also integrates an optimized shared infrastructure throughout a building, seamlessly connected to InfiniG's cloud-based platform. This comprehensive solution efficiently manages critical mobile operator coverage operations, including agreements, spectrum access, software updates, and data analytics, all while bridging buildings to mobile operator networks seamlessly, without any manual intervention required.
But where InfiniG's potential shines is that it extends across more than 40 billion square feet of previously untouched commercial space.
"InfiniG's advanced neutral host system efficiently provides mobile connectivity for our mobility subscribers within venues where they need enhanced coverage," said JR Wilson, Vice President, Tower Strategy and Roaming, AT&T (News - Alert). "This new model aligns seamlessly with our in-building network strategy and provides another tool in the toolbox to allow enterprises, partnering with operators, to provide the best connectivity possible."
NHaaS is currently being deployed in a variety of hospitality, healthcare, higher education, industrial and office spaces.
