Now, more than ever, public safety and emergency planning are a critical focus for cities, schools, businesses and other organizations. To ensure mobile communications safety options are available to everyone, Motorola (News - Alert) Solutions has announced it acquired Framingham, Massachusetts-based Rave Mobile Safety.

Rave provides mass notification and incident management to make collaboration easier during emergencies. With the cloud-native, customizable platform from Rave, users can communicate operational updates and alerts, like health emergencies, lockdowns and evacuations.

The company’s panic button solution is also an important tool for schools which can immediately provide real-time incident details and essential data like location to 9-1-1 call takers and first responders.

Following the acquisition, the Rave platform will be integrated into Motorola Solutions’ technology portfolio. Motorola currently offers a range of security and safety solutions, including access control, video security, body cameras, command center software, weapons detection solutions, and more.

“Rave and Motorola Solutions share a deep understanding of communication and collaboration workflows for customers, including the essential role of mobile technology, when addressing complex and evolving safety challenges,” said Todd Piett, CEO, Rave Mobile Safety. “We’re excited to extend our reach and impact as we join a global leader in public safety and enterprise security.”
