Over the past several months, eight new corporate giants have enrolled their names in International Imaging Industry Association, known as I3A. I3A is the global imaging industry association that supports safe environmental practices for the photographic and mobile imaging markets.  Through I3A, members have access to resources for solving critical issues and developing market solutions.

 

By joining the association, companies get an opportunity to work together with their business rivals to find common ground for advancing the industry as a whole and to enable better products and services for their combined customer base.

 

“Many of the new member companies plan to participate in I3A’s Camera Phone Image Quality Initiative, which is working to develop a complete set of image quality testing metrics and methodologies in order to enable a consumer-oriented image-quality-rating system,” I3A said in a statement.

 

The newest members range from cutting-edge R&D companies and commercial component suppliers to consumer products and services. The entrants include: Freescale, InvenSense, OmniVision Technologies (News - Alert), STMicroelectronics, Verizon Wireless, FotoNation, Image Integration, and Scalado AB. I3A believes that the contributions of these companies will enhance its other initiatives as well.

 

“The entry of new members confirms the value I3A membership offers across the spectrum of traditional and mobile imaging markets,” said I3A President Lisa Walker.
