Frost & Sullivan Explores Emerging Telecom Markets In Africa

Research by Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) indicates that war ravaged countries in Africa, like Angola and Mozambique, are among the fastest emerging telecommunications markets. These countries, which are recovering from the vagaries of long term civil war, are now entering periods of high growth activity and reconstruction. Angola and Mozambique, in particular, are decidedly exciting options for investors and hold great promise for the mobile telecom sector.

The potential for returns on investments made are so promising that, research predicts that, prospective investors would be willing to overlook the inherent challenges in the process. The ICT group at Frost & Sullivan plans on holding an online analyst briefing on 8 July at 2 pm BST/3 pm CAT, focused at providing stakeholders with extensive insight into the Angolan and Mozambican markets.
The briefing will pan over the significant opportunities that exist in these markets, with a comparative analysis. Also on the agenda are challenges and drivers which will decide the growth potential and the projections for the next seven years.
What will work to the advantage of new entrants into these nascent telecom markets is the absence of high level competition. However, on the flip side is that the telecommunications framework is still largely underdeveloped. Opportunities to grow under such circumstances are virtually limitless.
Within the middle class segment there’s growth everyday as well as the need for enterprise solutions. Both SEACOM (News - Alert) and EASSy cables are due to be introduced in Mozambique shortly; this is also expected to meet the needs of consumers and enterprises for increased bandwidth.
Frost & Sullivan is an international research and consulting firm that assists its clients to boost growth rates and grow to their full potential, be it in terms of growth, innovation or leadership. Their trademark, Growth Partnership Service, also supplies well organized research material and best practice models to decision makers to propel the building and execution of robust long term growth plans.
