Automating voice bilateral interconnections (VPW-02)
Thursday - 09/18/08, 9:15-10:00am
As much as voice network services have changed in the past several years much also remains the same. Carriers have almost always managed their own routing in the past. This was for control reasons related to quality, rates and credit terms. Over the past several years this has begun to change and we now see carriers basically outsourcing their bi-lateral routing functions and relationship management at the provisioning level to other organizations focused on this piece of the business. This allows the carriers to control costs in a more predicatble manner from a rate change and process perspective and it also allows them to focus more on their core business of generating revenues by selling services to buyers. A logical conclusion from all of this is that if it is good for carriers then it is certainly good for enterprise customers and call center operators. Come to this session to learn more about the benefits of bi-lateral route management.
