Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna Announces Full and Partial Talent-based Scholarships for Canadian High School Students
Centre for Arts and Technology (CAT) is an accredited arts and technology college located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley and is proud to announce a new scholarship opportunity for creative high school students.
The Create Your Future Awards were created with the goal of connecting passionate, and creative high school students with a career-oriented education in arts and technology. Four scholarships are available through this initiative: one overall winner will receive a complete scholarship to a full-time diploma program, and three additional $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to the runners-up.
These scholarships can be applied to the following CAT full-time diploma programs: 2D Animation & Digital Art, 3D Animation, Advanced Interior Design & Technology, Audio Engineering & Production, Professional Photography, Professional Filmmaking, and Graphic & Web Design.
Grade twelve students from across Canada (excluding Quebec) are eligible to apply before the submission deadline of Wednesday, June 28th, 2023. Winners will be chosen by a panel and announced on Friday, July 28th, 2023. Applicants will be required to submit a video statement along with a portfolio demonstrating their passion and creativity. The online application along with coplete details can be found at www.digitalartschool.com/cyfscholarship.
Local high school teachers and counselors are applauding this award, noting that there is an ongoing need for more scholarships geared towards creative students. Heather Crown, Teacher of Humanities and Technical Theatre at Kelowna-based Studio9 School of the Arts had this to share: "What an amazing scholarship! This is a great opportunity for Studio9 students to continue their project-based learning education and to pursue a career that truly interests them and fuels their creative spirit!"
CAT is thrilled that this scholarship will help empower the next generation of creative leaders, President, Jeremy Sabell commented, "We are genuinely excited by the launch of this scholarship opportunity, and we can't wait to see the full spectrum of talent that will be on display in the submissions from across BC and beyond. Working with talented people and providing an environment for them to thrive is what CAT is all about, and the Create Your Future scholarship program is a natural extension of that mission."
