d-Matrix Announces Opening of India R&D Center, Appoints Pradip Thaker, PhD, Head of India Operations


d-Matrix, a leader in high-efficiency AI compute for data centers, today announced the opening of a new R&D center in Bengaluru, India and has appointed Pradip Thaker, PhD, as Vice President and Country Head India for the company, a new position. Reporting to d-Matrix co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Sid Sheth, Dr. Thaker will be responsible for leading d-Matrix's India operations and executing on the company's growth strategy, including talent acquisition, product innovation, engineering and brand building.

The India engineering, design and operations teams will be making significant contributions to development for d-Matrix. As the leader of operations in India, Pradip will build out the momentum of the regional team and collaborate with global leadership to shape and execute India's long-term and short-term growth strategy.

The new R&D center in Bengaluru complements d-Matrix's operations in the U.S. and Australia, where it has R&D centers in Santa Clara and Sydney, respectively. This brings d-Matrix's total number of offices to 3 and total headcount to 80+ employees.

Pradip Thaker joins d-Matrix from Marvell Semiconductor, where he was Country Head for India & VP, Engineering, responsible for a force of 1500+ employees. During his 3.5 years' tenure and leadership there, Marvell India grew to be the second largest geographic region of the company (second to the U.S.) with its presence expanding to five cities in India, and the addition of diverse capabilities spanning software and hardware engineering, and ranging from automotive to 5G, networking, storage and other product domains of Marvell's business leadership.

Prior to Marvell, Pradip worked as Country Head & Senior Director, Engineering, at GEO Semiconductor - an automotive fabless start-up. He established GEO's India operations and ran hardware engineering for more tan six years. Under his leadership, GEO's India Center received multiple awards recognizing the company's technical engineering contributions and excellence of work-place culture and environment including IESA's "Technovation 2017" Award.



Pradip brings diverse experience of having worked for revenue-focused mid-size companies (ADI/Maxim/HNS), execution-savvy large companies (TI) and technology-oriented start-ups (e.g., Beceem Communications).

Dr. Thaker is truly a global business leader, with career span split between India and the U.S.

Pradip owns several patents with several more currently in the review/approval process. He is the recipient of numerous academic and industry awards and serves on the Board of the IESA - a premier industry representation body of electronics and semiconductor organizations. He has been an invited speaker and panelist at numerous local and global conferences. Pradip holds a PhD from the George Washington University.
