Edgewater Wireless Receives Notice of Allowance from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (TSXV: YFI) (OTC: KPIFF), the industry leader in Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing technology for residential and enterprise markets, is pleased to announce it has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") for U.S. patent application number 16/806,982; entitled "Automatic Gain Control (AGC) for Multichannel / Wideband Communications System".

With over 25 USPTO granted patents, Edgewater's growing patent portfolio highlights the Company's ongoing commitment to protecting its innovations and positioning the Company for future growth. This strategy, to file patents on both the hardware-device and implementation side, was implemented over a decade ago and continues across Edgewater's Spectrum Slicing product development cycle and should support the increasing value of its intellectual property (IP) assets as the Company delivers its Spectrum Slicing next-generation Wi-Fi - today.

"Continuing to build and enhance our rich portfolio of Spectrum Slicing patents is a critical element of our growth and commercialization strategy. Patents strengthen our competitive position and give us a lock on our Spectrum Slicing approach as we begin our scaling and manufacturing efforts," said Andrew Skafel, President and CEO of Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. "We are pleased the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recognizes Edgewater's novel and innovative approach to wireless communications. Our team remains more focused than ever in executing our near and long-term strategic initiatives while continuing to build shareholder value."

USPTO 16/806,982: Automatic Gain Control (AGC) for Multichannel / Wideband Communications System

Automatic Gain Control (AGC) system for multi-channel signals attenuates an incoming multi-channel signal by providing a gain. The system further adjusts each individual channel, of the multi-channel signal, by supplying a second gain if needed. The AGC system is designed to ensure a received signal power is at an optimal level for analog to digital conversion or any other form of signal processing. The system also enables elimination of mid-packet gain adjustments.

Edgewater's Spectrum Slicing is a highly advanced signal processing technique that enables multiple radio (Wi-Fi) channels to operate within the same Wi-Fi band in the same coverage area. Spectrum Slicing dramatically reduces co-channel (CCI) and adjacent channel (ACI) interference.

This additional patent allowance further deepens our eadership in the multi-channel Wi-Fi market. Edgewater's Spectrum Slicing is the only technology that force multiplies the available channels within a Wi-Fi band, effectively allowing for 3-4 times the channel density within a coverage area, decreasing latency by 50% and increasing aggregate Wi-Fi throughput 7-18x in real-world Wi-Fi environments.

About Edgewater Wireless

We make Wi-Fi. Better.

Edgewater Wireless (www.edgewaterwireless.com) is the industry leader in innovative Spectrum Slicing technology for residential and commercial markets. We develop advanced Wi-Fi silicon solutions, Access Points, and IP licensing designed to meet the high-density and high quality-of-service needs of service providers and their customers. With 25+ patents, Edgewater's Multi-Channel, Single Radio (MCSR) technology revolutionizes Wi-Fi, delivering next-generation Wi-Fi today.

Edgewater's physical layer Spectrum Slicing allows a frequency band to be divided, or sliced, to enable more radios to operate in a given area. Think of Spectrum Slicing like moving from a single-lane road to a multi-lane highway - regardless of Wi-Fi technology. The recently completed Proof of Concept (PoC) with a major Tier 1 Service Provider showed 7 to 18 times performance gains in 75% of homes surveyed. Interestingly, homes with the most devices saw the greatest improvements.
