Wireless Innovation Forum FY2022 Operations Plan Features Report on Drones, Additional CBRS Standards and MoreWASHINGTON, Aug. 24, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnForum) membership has approved its 2022 Operations plan, which includes goals of its four committees for the next 12 months. Projects undertaken by the Advanced Technology Committee (ATC), 6 GHz Committee (6GHz), Spectrum Sharing Committee (SSC) and the Software Defined Systems Committee (SDS) include multiple reports, recommendations, and specifications for use by the advanced wireless community. 6GHz objectives include creation of an AFC Functional Specification and a Test and Certification Specification. Further, the committee will identify security needs in the band developing specifications as necessary. It will continue collaborative work with the Wi-Fi Alliance on the development of requirements and procedures regarding interference reporting and mitigation. The ATC will focus on the creation of a watch list that outlines strategic projects in support of the Forum's Advocacy Agenda, revise its Top 10 Most Wanted Wireless Innovations list and the Forum's Platform Strategy, expand the Regulatory Advisory Committee, extend academic outreach, support its 3100-3550 MHz project, and support the forthcoming Technological State of the Industry on Wireless Drone Networking report. The SDS will focus on a recommendation to The Open Group Sensor Open System Architecture ™ (SOSA) Consortium on SDR standards integration, as well as the production of a Harmonized Audio Port API, among other projects. SSC working group goals include continuatio of CBRS Release 2 standards development and fundamental updates to existing standards, in addition to new projects around emerging topics such as ESC, C-Band, PAL Secondary Market and more.
