Additional highlights of the 2020 Ship Responsibly report include details of Convoy's commitment to truckers, shippers, and the broader community in which we participate. Convoy remains committed to helping our customers ship responsibly:
"Our partnership with Convoy allows us to look a bit further down the road. It's not a transactional one-day-to-the-next relationship," said John Sadlier, Chief Sustainability Officer at Ardagh Group. "As we transition to a low-carbon transport infrastructure, everything I've seen would indicate that Convoy is the type of company that will get us there as quickly as possible, but in an economically sensible manner."
"The brand philosophy of Dropps is based on the premise of low waste, with sustainability driving all of the decisions we make as a company," said Jonathan Propper, Founder and CEO of Dropps. "Convoy shares our vision for sustainability across the supply chain, including implementing efficiencies to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible."
Planning for the future
"We partnered with Emitwise, a leading software platform for running a world-class climate program, to measure our carbon footprint so we know exactly which parts of our business emit greenhouse gases. Now we have the data and insights to build a net zero emissions plan for our business operations," said Jennifer Wong, Head of Sustainability at Convoy. "We've already made significant progress to help our customers reduce emissions and ship responsibly, but the time has come for us to bring that same rigor and mission-driven focus to our operating model. The trucking industry's effects on climate change are undeniable and this commitment is a crucial next step in leading the industry forward."
Medium and heavy-duty vehicles, powered by diesel fuel, represent only 5 percent of the vehicles on the road but currently account for more than 20 percent of transportation emissions in the United States, as trucks are typically driven for much greater distances than passenger cars. Significant reductions in truck emissions are essential to climate change mitigation efforts. Convoy is championing the effort to create a more efficient trucking infrastructure for everyone.

Convoy is the nation's most efficient digital freight network. We move thousands of truckloads around the country each day through our optimized, connected network of carriers, saving money for shippers, increasing earnings for drivers, and eliminating carbon waste for our planet. We use technology and data to solve problems of waste and inefficiency in the $800B trucking industry, which generates over 87 million metric tons of wasted CO2 emissions from empty trucks. Fortune 500 shippers like Anheuser-Busch, P&G, Niagara, and Unilever trust Convoy to lower costs, increase logistics efficiency, and achieve environmental sustainability targets.
