Milken Institute Global Conference Goes Virtual October 12-21, 2020

The Milken Institute Global Conference, an annual convening of global leaders in government, finance, health, academia, and philanthropy, will go fully virtual this fall from October 12-21, 2020.

Building on the success of this year's Summer Series, where leaders examined life and business amid-COVID-19, the 23rd annual conference will center around "Meeting the Moment." Through this theme, the agenda will cover how to lead through a period of crisis, navigate financial markets in tumultuous times, and create avenues for inspiration. Select sessions will be live-streamed.

"Society and business are currently being reviewed, reimagined, and reinvented in the wake of the pandemic and increased momentum around racial justice," said Michael Klowden, CEO of Milken Institute. "By expanding the Global Conference dates and going fully virtual, we have the added benefit of reaching global audiences more than ever before to catalyze solutions to these challenges."

Milken Institute events draw thousands of attendees each year and feature influential leaders. The Summer Series examined the global economic outlook, discussed the race to COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, and investigated racial injustices. Speakers included Dr. Albert Bourla, chairman and CEO of Pfizer, Inc; Mark Cuban, entrepreneur, investor, and owner of the Dallas Mavericks; Dr. AnthonyFauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health; Dr. Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund; Barbara Humpton, president and CEO, Siemens (News - Alert) USA; Alfred Kelly, Jr., chairman and CEO of Visa, Inc.; Carmine Di Sibio, global chairman and CEO of EY; and Robert Smith, chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners. Session videos from the Summer Series are available here.

"We're pleased to share that the 2020 Future of Health Summit in December also will be virtual, offering additional opportunities to explore subjects ranging from vaccines and treatments for COVID-19, upgrading food supply systems, managing mental health, and improving care for older adults," said Klowden.

The Milken Institute remains grateful for the generous support of our Strategic Partners and sponsors who make our important work possible.
