Despite Pandemic, NS1 Boosts Momentum in Q2 with Corporate Fundraise, Customer Wins, and Channel Growth

NS1, the leader in modern application and access networking, today announced it closed the second quarter of 2020 with a 50% growth in revenue. Similarly, the EMEA region experienced more than 40% bookings growth. Continued momentum is driven by demand for NS1's modern foundational infrastructure solutions that power the connected economy. Adding nearly 100 enterprise customers so far during 2020, while maintaining a customer retention rate of 95%, NS1 remains a market leader.

"Recent events have highlighted the importance of high-performing, resilient applications, and the critical infrastructure technology that supports them," said Kris Beevers, co-founder and CEO, NS1. "Our software-defined approach to DNS and IP address management technologies provides companies with the agility, control, and scalability necessary to expedite IT modernization projects; provide secure, reliable remote work solutions; and deliver superior application experiences while controlling costs."

NS1's role in IT modernization efforts to support increased global connectivity was a key driver behind the company's recent $40 million Series D venture round, led by Energy Impact Partners with participation from existing investors. NS1 plans to lean in on product innovation and significantly increase the size of its technology teams over the next 6-12 months.

Further growth during the first half of 2020 is attributed to the company's thriving channel program, which experienced a 120% increase in enabled partners. The CRN 5-Star Rated program is growing rapidly following the June addition of NS1 Enterprise DDI to the Cisco DevNet SolutionsPlus program and global price list. Integrations with Cisco Umbrella and Cisco AnyConnect streamline implementation for NetOps, DevOps, and SecOps teams, enabling them to more efficiently, securely, and reliably deliver and scale application and network services that enable business.

Industry Impact

In the absence of in-person events, NS1's first interactive digital forum, INS1GHTS, was met with enthusiastic support, with more than 30 sponsors and 2,500 registrants representing 108 countries. On June 25, industry experts led 35 sessions from two virtual stages, discussing topics pertinent to NetOps, DevOps, and application delivery, such as global traffic steering, DNS security, Kubernetes, continuous integration and deployment, allyship, and strategies for avoiding burnout. Participants received exclusive access to the INS1GHTS2020 Slack Community, where they participated in live Q&As, giveaways, and polls, and engaged with other members, speakers, and industry leaders.

Leadership Team Expansion and Commitment to Diversity

During the first half of 2020, NS1 appointed David Wilson as chief financial officer, Lorraine Heber-Brause as vice president and global head of people, and Sanjay Ramnath as vice president of product marketing. Joining at a point of strategic growth for NS1, they will support continued innovation, both in product and employee experiences, while solidifying NS1's leadership in delivering software-defined application and access networking solutions that power the growing connected economy.

As head of people, Heber-Brause is tasked with scaling NS1's employee growth strategy and creating a world-class employee experience. This includes attracting new talent to meet the company's growth strategy with an emphasis on team diversity, as well as deepening all facets of inclusion.

New Capabilities and Integrations

In April 2020, NS1 expanded its Managed DNS capabilities to support increased use of virtual private networks (VPNs). When used to direct VPN users, NS1 improves the experience for remote employees by intelligently and dynamically steering traffic to the optimal VPN access points for reliable, frictionless connectivity.

NS1 customers can now integrate with more of the tech in their environments, including ServiceNow (News - Alert) and Hashicorp's Consul. They can also take advantage of NS1 management portal and reporting enhancements, URL site forwarding for more locations, and new authentication and access features.
