Rising Phoenix Holdings Corporation (RPHC), the parent company of the country's leading disaster preparedness and recovery firms, has hired Mark Misczak, a nationally recognized leader in the field of emergency management, as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Misczak has worked in disaster preparedness, response and recovery for more than 25 years, most of which was spent serving at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). His work at FEMA culminated in his promotion to Acting Division Director and Deputy Director for Individual Assistance, one of the largest divisions within the agency. At FEMA, and through subsequent work at emergency management consulting firms, Misczak led complex programs and projects resulting in the elivery of billions of dollars in federal resiliency and recovery funding. He is also an accomplished business leader, having managed thousands of employees and directed organizational transformation to produce business growth.



Misczak studied emergency management at the University of North Texas. He subsequently earned his Certified Emergency Manager credential-the highest professional achievement available-from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). He is a graduate of George Washington University's Senior Leadership Program and Harvard University's National Preparedness Leadership Initiative.
