Roger Sevigny Joins The Aliera Companies Board of Directors

The Aliera Companies, a holding and management company providing compliance, accounting, human resources, and training services to its subsidiaries, today announced Roger Sevigny joined its board of directors.

Sevigny is a former New Hampshire state insurance commissioner, a position he served for 15 years in the administrations of both Republican and Democratic governors prior to his 2018 retirement. He was responsible for protecting public interests by ensuring a fair and competitive insurance marketplace through the development and enforcement of the state's insurance laws.

During his term as insurance commissioner, Sevigny was elected president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in 2009. He also held various leadership positions in the organization throughout his career.

"We are pleased to have a leader of Roger's reputation and talent on our board," said Shelley Steele, CEO of The Aliera Companies. "As the former NAIC president, Roger is widely respected in the industry and his experience is unmatched. He will be instrumental in guiding Aliera's corporate governance efforts and i helping us communicate more effectively with regulators and other government officials about our subsidiaries and how they operate."

Sevigny currently serves on the Consumer Advisory Committee of the Interstate Insurance Product Registry Compact, a multi-state public entity that works to assure consumers have ready access to competitive insurance products. The group promotes uniformity in product standards and strong consumer protections.

Before his public service, Sevigny worked for Travelers Insurance/Citigroup for more than 30 years, working his way up the company's ranks through a variety of technical positions into senior leadership.

Preceding and concurrent with his tenure at Travelers/Citigroup, Sevigny served for more than 30 years in the U.S. Army (active and reserve), retiring as a colonel. He was subsequently appointed by New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu to the state's Veterans Council and today maintains an active role in the organization and other veterans initiatives.
