Joel Horwitz Joins Sero Capital as Managing DirectorSero Capital, LLC (Sero), a private investment firm that focuses on growth opportunities in the technology sector, today announced the addition of Joel Horwitz to its growing management team. Mr. Horwitz will serve as Managing Director to the firm. Mr. Horwitz, a seasoned veteran in product marketing, data science and digital strategy, joins Sero from WANdisco, where he served as Senior Vice President, Marketing. Prior to WANdisco, Horwitz served as VP of Global Strategic Partnerships and Digital Products for IBM Data & AI. His time at IBM was highlighted by the launch of the Spark Technology (News - Alert) Center in San Francisco. Prior to IBM, Horwitz joined H2O.ai, an early stage startup, as Head of Marketing. At H2O.ai he formed a new marketing department which included developer advocates for grass-roots community programs, culminating in a first-of-its-kind Machine Learning (ML) user conference, training hundreds of people to build models with H2O.ai from real-world customer applications. Earlier in his career, Horwitz served as Principal Product Strategist at AVG Technologies (News - Alert), where he led a cross team initiative to deploy an Analytics ∓ Management Data platform. These insights led to the accretive acquisitions of products adjacent to AVG's core security business, achieving 5x top line revenue growth by increasing wallet share and active users, leading up to the company's $1 billion IPO on the NYSE in 2012.
