State of Vermont Wins 3 National Website Awards

The State of Vermont recently received 3 national awards for newly redesigned agency websites. The Hermes Creative Awards have named the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, the Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, and the Department of Fish & Wildlife as Gold Winners in the Government category.

The Hermes Creative Awards are an annual recognition from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) whose mission fosters and supports the efforts of marketing and communication professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations.

"As an agency, our core mission is to help Vermonters protect, respect, and enjoy our state's natural resources," said Agency of Natural Resources Secretary Julie Moore. "One of the most important ways we connect with Vermonters is through our website. It's the virtual gathering place we provide for communities across the state. It contains valuable information, updates, and guidance on natural resource management for tens of thousands of people each year. We're incredibly grateful to VIC for helping us rebuild our web presence. They helped transform it into a more user-friendly, approachable space for the public we serve."

"Our website is an important outreach tool for us to communicate with the public," said Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Michael Snyder. "Modernizing the look and usability of the site would have been a challenge for us withoutVIC's professional guidance."

"Our new website offers the public tremendous access to the many services and information resources our department provides," said Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department Commissioner Louis Porter. "Working in a tight frame, under significant pressure, VIC came through for us with a website of which we can justly be proud."

The State of Vermont redesigned the new websites in partnership with Vermont Information Consortium, LLC, a digital government services partner that provides a portfolio of online services for the citizens and businesses of Vermont.

The Gold Winner awards for the Agency of Natural Resources, Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, and the Department of Fish & Wildlife highlight the State of Vermont's evolving online presence to modernize government and reduce costs for individual citizens, families, and businesses.
