JASK Company Growth Accelerates from Confluence of SIEM Market Forces

JASK, the provider of the industry's first cloud-native SIEM platform, today announced a record-breaking quarter (ending March 31, 2019). The company realized year-over-year (YoY) growth in annual contract value of 210 percent and YoY growth in total contract value of 234 percent. JASK also doubled employee headcount over the past year to nearly 100 employees, in conjunction with establishing its headquarters in Austin, Texas.

"Our growth is due to a confluence of SIEM market forces creating a significant refresh cycle and opening the doors for next-generation companies like JASK to take on the market incumbents," said Greg Martin, JASK co-founder and CEO. "These include accelerating cloud adoption and the need for hybrid cloud solutions, demand for automation to address the talent shortage and a desire for predictable licensing pricing. This plays right into JASK's vision and position for continued growth and disruption in the SIEM market. I'd like to thank the entire JASK team for their hard work and commitment over the past year."

JASK's customer base increased by over 150 percent year-over-year. The company is winning 70 percent of head-to-head sales campaigns against on-premises, cloud-adapted SIEM competitors. In one case, an international airline carrier chose JASK ASOC to replace its legacy SIEM after an evaluation of Splunk (News - Alert) ES. JASK's ability to demonstrate automation of level 1 and level 2 alerts, which provided immediate value and allowed for optimization of its SOC analyst team, focused the team on the threats that mattered most to their organization. Furthermore, the customer also recognized JASK as delivering lower total cost of ownership through its predictable licensing pricing.

Q1 2019 Highlights

Technology and Platform Innovation

  • Ahead of RSA (News - Alert) Conference, JASK announced new dynamic multi-cloud visibility and workload monitoring features that extend its leadership position as the market's first cloud-native SIEM. The enhanced capabilities include advanced analytics expressly designed to process the constantly changing, high-volume data unique to AWS and Microsoft (News - Alert) Azure cloud environments.
  • In February, JASK introduced new search and filtering capabilities that combine natural language processing, point-and-click interfaces and SQL-like experiences into an intuitive experience through which analysts can build a query one word at a time. Once the analyst creates a query, they can easily edit it without having to re-create the full query, allowing for easy data pivoting.
  • JASK leverages a handful of open source tools to build the ASOC platform and is an active participant in the community. Led by UI engineer Austin McDaniel, the company released its data visualization framework as an open source project. Called reaviz - short for ReactJS Visualization library -- it is a ReactJS component library that leverages D3.js to draw complicated data visualizations.

Channel and Alliances Expansion

  • In January, the company unveiled its enhanced JASK Momentum global partner program, featuring resources and benefits unlike any other in the industry, offering unprecedented tools and protection for JASK partners. Designed to encourage more rapid expansion, the expanded program drove 45 new deal registrations in Q1. Now with 40 partners, the company projects more than 200 percent YoY growth in deal registrations. Overall, the channel drove two-thirds of JASK's business in Q1 2019, which in turn fueled greater inbound interest from resellers wanting to partner with JASK.
  • CRN gave the JASK Momentum (News - Alert) program a 5-Star rating in its 2019 Partner Program Guide. This annual guide identifies the strongest and most successful partner programs in the channel today, offered by the top technology suppliers for IT products and services. The 5-Star rating recognizes an elite subset of companies that offer solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel programs.

Industry Leadership and Recognition

  • Last month, JASK announced the appointment of Kyle Derr as chief architect. In this new position, Derr drives the architecture behind the JASK ASOC platform improving the overall customer design experience and company strategic roadmap. Derr joined JASK in early 2018 as a principal platform architect playing a key role in the early development of the cloud-native SIEM.
  • CB Insights named JASK to the third annual AI 100 ranking, showcasing the 100 most promising private artificial intelligence companies in the world. The achievement recognizes JASK's Adaptive Signal Clustering, which uses ensemble machine learning to normalize and cluster all attack data, alerts and anomalies into JASK Insights, automating repetitive tasks for SOC analysts.
