Stienbach Credit Union, one of CCUA's 240 credit unions, is the first to introduce Interac Debit on Samsung Pay, allowing members to make direct purchases from their chequing or savings accounts at select retailers using eligible Samsung devices.

"Samsung is committed to driving innovation, whether that's through our Samsung Pay services or through our latest products – like the Galaxy S10. It's about creating a seamless mobile ecosystem that simplifies the day-to-day lives of our customers and partners," said Steven Cull, Director of Corporate Strategy, Samsung Electronics Canada. "We were thrilled to find another partner that was equally as committed to providing fast and secure digital payment options for its customers as we are."

As the first Canadian redit union to launch Samsung Pay, Steinbach Credit Union joins an expansive list of Samsung Pay bank partners offering Interac Debit, Mastercard and Visa. Samsung Pay provides consumers with a seamless mobile payment solution designed to offer:

  • Simple: To make a payment on Samsung Pay, users can simply swipe up, scan their fingerprint, iris or input their four-digit PIN, and tap to pay.
