AWIP Expands National Network, Opens Boston Chapter to Promote Diversity in Tech

Advancing Women in Product (AWIP), the organization empowering high-potential female product and tech leaders through equality of opportunity, is announcing the launch of a new chapter in Boston. The chapter will work to empower more women and other underrepresented groups into product and technology leadership roles through career development workshops and networking opportunities.

"AWIP is excited to launch a network in Boston, a hub of innovation that boasts a vast network of world-class universities and a large technology workforce," said Nancy Wang, CEO and co-founder of AWIP. "Establishing a strong presence in a thriving tech-centric city enables AWIP to get in on the ground floor and promote diversity among swiftly growing companies."

AWIP was founded in 2017 to address the widening diversity gap in tech management roles and has quickly grown to more than 7,000 members worldwide. The AWIP Boston Chapter, led by Bindu Tuli, Boston chapter lead and director product management at Dell (News - Alert) EMC Corporation, will focus on providing skill-based training, networking opportunities and executive mentorship through an ambassador program. AWIP Boston will also host multiple events featuring local, prominent tech leaders sharing their personal career journeys to foster and develop the chapter community.

"My main goal is to provide our members with access to valuable workshops, training sessions and mentoring programs to encourage and enable women to advance in their field and grow into leadership roles," said Tuli. "We want to build a strong community that shapes the continuously growing technology industry in the Greater Boston area."

To launch the Boston chapter, AWIP will host a panel discussion "Amplifying Your Voice as a Woman in Tech," followed by a Q&A session. For the panel, AWIP has invited female executives with diverse backgrounds to provide insight into their careers, as well as offer advice on how to break barriers in tech and advocate for oneself in the workplace.
