Senior Global Operating Executive Joins SensibleVision Leadership Team

SensibleVision, a global developer of mobile biometric technology, today announced that Hoon Chung, a global operating executive with extensive experience in technology, AI and software development, will be joining as SVP - Asia Pacific. Chung previously served as VP, Global Business Development at Neurala, a deep learning neural network software company. He has also held senior leadership roles at IntelliVision and Retailigence.

Chung will initially be focused on expanding SensibleVision's reach in the smart devices market in Asia, but will also be looking at opportunities for broader deployment of the company's True 3D face authentication solution including IoT and Access Control.

"I first met George Brostoff, CEO and co-founder of SensibleVision, at an executive conference in 2017. I was immediately impressed with his technology and its potential to transform the evolution of the smartphone," said Chung. "Not only that, but George and SensibleVision are passionate about the solution actually working in real life environments and delivering value to enterprises, thus helping them to enhance their competitive diferentiation. The company's approach is totally 'customer centric' which aligns perfectly with my own world view."

As more and more data is created by everything from cars to IoT devices to clothing, accurate authentication and secure recognition will only become more important. This shift represents an opportunity to incorporate 3D face authentication capabilities into an expanding range of devices including robots, drones, anything that has a camera and edge computing power.

"The good news is that we don't need to explain the importance of accurate and transparent authentication to executives," said Chung. "They already understand the need for fast and more accurate access control in settings like airports, manufacturing facilities and office buildings. Many of these executives have battle scars from numerous underperforming, standard 2D face authentication solutions."

"While AI may fly planes and drive cars in 10 years, exciting use cases exist today around machine learning and deep neural networks that deliver accurate authentication at the edge of the network on mobile devices," states George Brostoff, CEO and co-founder of SensibleVision. "We are excited to have Hoon's insight into the pain points Asian smart device makers are experiencing and working with them to leverage AI-driven authentication solutions at the device level."

While SensibleVision is focused on smart devices in the near term, market-driven pull is going to eventually take the company into other domains including smart machines, smart cities, smart banking, smart commerce and smart vehicles.
