Stateless Wins National Science Foundation Award for Software Defined Interconnect

Stateless, Inc., the company reinventing network connectivity, today announced that it has been granted an award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for its advancements in Software Defined Interconnect (SD-IX). Designed to unleash the power of data center networks, Stateless' approach, as recognized by NSF, elevates network connectivity to provide greater security, visibility and control for colocation providers managing tenant traffic and communications across a portfolio of different sites.

The National Science Foundation's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program - also known as America's Seed Fund powered by NSF - provides small businesses with equity-free funding to conduct research and development (R&D) work. The funding is intended to allow recipients to bring innovative new products and services to market that drive the commercial success of business. The Phase II grant of $750,000 follows the company's previous award of $225,000 by the scientific organization and is awarded pursuant to the authority ofthe National Science Foundation Act of 1950.

Stateless was founded to enable colocation providers and cloud MSPs to sit at the core of tenant networks through software-defined interconnect (SD-IX). SD-IX gives providers software-defined management of cross-connects so that they can protect their connectivity revenue, intelligently extend outside a single physical location and optimize their internal networks.

In addition to the NSF award Stateless received a grant from The Colorado Economic Development Commission in November 2018 for $250,000. Called the Colorado Advanced Industry Award (AIA), the grant was provided for pre-commercialization research and commercialization preparation. The grant funds companies such as Stateless, Inc. in the commercialization of innovative technologies to create viable products that meet a market need.
