Emmy Nominated, National Geographic filmmaker joins blockchain group PO8

FREEPORT, Bahamas, Feb. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Emmy nominated underwater cinematographer Evan Kovacs has joined the PO8 team in search of billions of dollars' worth of artifacts in The Bahamas. Kovacs brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in cinematography from the depths of the ocean, stemming from a 20-year career that includes projects like the R.M.S. Titanic and the Apollo 11 Rocket Engine Recovery with Jeff Bezos, to underwater expeditions of wrecks and archaeological sites worldwide.

Matthew Arnett CEO of PO8 said, "We're extremely lucky to have such an accomplished underwater cinematographer like Evan join the team.  He is not only a talented story teller, but Evans brings a wealth of experience with deep submersibles and remotely operated vehicles. We're excited to have him spearhead our VR division to create unique IPs for us to monetize with gaming giants like EA and Tencent."

The shallow waters of The Bahamas will provide Kovacs with yet another exotic location to film the recovery of underwater artifacts from the Golden Age of Piracy through VR imagery, taking people on a virtual swim through shipwrecks. "We will tell the story of not just the shipwreck, but th local culture and the people involved, which ties into a big story of humanity. There are so many elements to the ships that went down, and from a historical point of view being able to relate that in a new way would be pretty exciting," said Kovacs.

To date, Kovacs is one of the few people to film the R.M.S. Titanic and her sister ship, H.M.H.S. Britannic in both 2D and 3D.  Among some of the broadcast networks featuring his work, include National Geographic, History Channel, Discovery Channel, PBS and NOVA.
