CentralSquare Team Building Results In Donation to Local Community

A group from CentralSquare's sales team took time for a corporate social responsibility experience to give back to the local community by preparing 160 solar-car kits for donation along with 32 assembled solar cars to Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee. The event took place in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 23, 2019.

CentralSquare worked with Impact 4 Good, a company that focuses on team-building programs that give back to community. For this event, CentralSquare selected "Go GREEN Racing." Go GREEN Racing focuses on the importance of youth learning about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM education) and alternative energy. CentralSquare participants engaged in an interactive and competitive program to build solar cars in preparation for a time trial and single-elimination tournament. Along the way, teams prepared 160 solar-car kits for children who will be participating in their schools' hands-on STEM programs. A handwritten "STEM Message of Encouragement" was included with each solar-car kit to motivate and inspire the children.

"We're pleased to have partnered with Impact 4 Good during our annual sales kickoff," said CentralSquare CEO Simon Angove. "STEM programs help develop the future generations of talent that will drive innovation in technology leaders like CentralSquare."

For over 114 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, serving as one of the original Boys & Girls Club organizations in the country, has provided a safe and engaging place to learn, row and succeed. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of young people by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, pride and belonging. Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee is a comprehensive youth development organization dedicated to five core program foundations: Education & Career Development; Character & Leadership Development; Health & Life (News - Alert) Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. Annually, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee serves over 4,000 youth, ages five to 18.

Dan Jernigan, President and CEO of Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee, thanked the group in person at the event for their time and effort in helping to provide the gifts. Following the event, Dan went on to say, "Thank you for thinking of Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee and for taking the time to help youth discover new solutions to real world problems with this special STEM project."
