On Saturday and Tuesday evenings in December, registered Buzztime players competed in 30-minute games of Countdown trivia – each worth $1,000. The competition tapped the Buzztime Nation of 10 million players and delivered results for its over 2,600 locations. In December 2018, gameplay increased by 102% on Saturdays and 125% on Tuesdays, as compared to Tuesdays and Saturdays in all of 2018. The Sunday Funday: Trivia for Cash competition challenges registered players to compete for $1,000 in a 30-minute round of Topix Trivia – every Sunday in January at 8:30 pm ET/ 5:30 pm PT. They can test their trivia skills against players across the bar – and across the nation – with the very best competitors taking home the $1,000 prize. In order to compete, players must first register to join the Buzztime Nation. Therefore, Trivia for Cash also serves to expand the local Buzztime community at each of the 2,600 locations. Because of the overall increase in gameplay, Buzztime's digital-out-of-home (DOOH) advertising partners are also benefiting from a lift in impressions. Their branding messages are being seen mre frequently, by more players on 15,000 screens and 65,000 Buzztime gaming tablets when players are excited and engaged in the competition.
